Josefa Sicard-Mirabal is an international lawyer and an independent arbitrator. Her multifaceted career spans across legal systems, cultures and languages. As an independent arbitrator, Ms. Sicard-Mirabal works as counsel in national and international arbitration under institutional or ad hoc rules. She is accomplished in mergers and acquisitions, project finance, banking and securities matters in the construction, energy, telecommunications, consumer products and hotel industries. She is an adjunct professor of law at Fordham University School of Law in New York City, and she has been a guest lecturer on international commercial and investment arbitration at several law schools including, Harvard University, Columbia University, Boston University, and Northwestern University. From 2006 to 2015, Ms. Sicard-Mirabal was the Executive Director (formerly Regional Director) of Arbitration and ADR for North America for the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce(ICC). From 2011 to 2020, she served as an External Member of the Sanctions Committee of the Inter- American Development Bank (anti-corruption tribunal).
