YI Xianhe (Sienho YEE)

He is also Chief Expert at Wuhan University China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies, Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of International Law(an SSCI journal published in English by Oxford University Press), Special Rapporteur of the Informal Expert Group on Customary International Law of Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, Chief Expert of a Major Project of the National Social Science Fund of China, and Distinguished Professor at the National University of Malaysia.
Professor Yi Xianhe formerly served as Law Clerk to Judge Cowen of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Judge Li Haopei of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Legal Officer of IMF, Bellagio Resident Fellow at Rockefeller Foundation, Hamilton Visiting Research Fellow at Christ Church, Oxford University, Senior Fellow at Humboldt University, Chair of the ILA American Branch Committee on International Dispute Settlement, and Sub-Reporter on ICJ Matters of ILA UN Reform Study Group. He is a member of the Bar of New York State and the Bar of the US Supreme Court, and was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell. Cited and quoted in various proceedings at the International Court of Justice and other tribunals, he was the principal presenter on applicable law at the "ICJ at 70" official seminar, He has delivered several speeches as Counsel and Advocate at the ICJ and is a member of the ICSID Panel of Conciliators.
