Judge Shen Hongyu is a Senior Judge of the Second Rank. She worked at the Fourth Civil Division of the SPC from June 2009 to December 2018, and was appointed as a Judge of the SPC in August 2015. In January 2019, she became a Presiding Judge of the Intellectual Property Court of the SPC. In June 2020, Judge Shen was appointed as the Deputy Chief Judge of the Fourth Civil Division of the SPC. Prior to her work at the SPC, she worked at the Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court of Guangdong Province from July 2000 to June 2009, where she served as a Presiding Judge. She previously worked at the Bureau of Justice of Jiaxing of Zhejiang Province from August 1995 to August 1997. Judge Shen majored in Civil and Commercial law at Renmin University of China. She obtained a Doctor Degree of Law. She studied at the University of Hong Kong from September 2002 to June 2003. From August 2019 to January 2020, she was a visiting scholar at the Columbia University.
