Dr. Mantakou is a member of the Athens Bar since 1987. She has also studied Public and Private International Law and International Relations at The Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva. Her Ph.D., sponsored by the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, is on the "Formation of the Arbitration Agreement in International Transactions". Previously partner in one of the most prestigious Athens based Law Firms, Anna runs as managing partner the Mantakou- Dougka Law Firm specializing exclusively on arbitration.


Dr. Mantakou has, as counsel, co-arbitrator, chairperson or expert witness, significant experience in energy, construction, gaming and wagering, sports, media, telecom, shareholders' agreements, defense, litter administration and Bilateral Investment Treaties cases either in ad hoc or under ICC, LCIA, CAS, UNCITRAL, PCA, SCC Rules arbitration. She has been for ICC Court member since 2003.


Acting presently as Deputy Director of the Hellenic Institute of International and Foreign Law, Anna has over 30 years' experience in dealing with the Laws of almost all the jurisdictions of the world, focusing, inter alia, on Anglo-American, Chinese, German, Swiss, French and UAE Laws.


Dr. Mantakou is the Secretary General of the Hellenic Association for Arbitration and member of the BoD of the Shanghai Arbitration Commission. Anna is a member of the International Arbitration Institute.


Dr. Mantakou is the author of a book and various Articles on arbitration. President of the Editorial Board of the journal "Arbitration" (in Greek), Anna participates in various arbitration fora as speaker or moderator all over the world.
