Dr. Xavier Favre-Bulle with a Ph.D in law, serves as the Senior Co-Chair of the International Bar Association (IBA) Arbitration Committee and the Academic Council Member of the Swiss Arbitration Academy. Additionally, he acts as an advisor to the Gulf Cooperation Council Commercial Arbitration Centre (GCCCAC), Japan Institute for International Arbitration Research and Training (JIART) and Borneo International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (BICAM), and he is also a member of over ten international arbitration centers, including the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). He has previously served as the President of Arbitration Court of the Swiss Arbitration Centre, and as a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
He is currently a partner at Lenz & Staehelin in Geneva, where he leads the arbitration group and the sports law sector. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.
Dr. Favre-Bulle has 30 years of experience in dispute resolution (arbitration as counsel or arbitrator, ADR, court litigation), involving sales agreements, agency & distribution, licences, joint ventures, shareholders agreements, post-M&A disputes, etc., in various business industries such as energy, construction, luxury goods, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, banking, aerospace, sports, investment protection, etc. He has received honors, including being named "Lawyer of the Year" in Litigation in Geneva for 2024, and is the author of around 80 books and articles.
