Jia Bingbing

Having graduated from the University of Oxford with a doctorate in public international law, he is currently a professor of international law at the School of Law, Tsinghua University, Associate Member of the Institute of International Law, Member of the Curatorium of the Hague Academy of International Law and Member of the Executive Council of the Chinese Society of International Law. He once served as research and teaching assistant at the University of Oxford, law clerk (assisting the late Judges Li Haopei and Wang Tieya), and legal officer at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Since 2009, he has been providing legal opinions for judicial and arbitral proceedings between states. He has also been a recipient of the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award of the Humboldt Foundation of Germany with a visiting professorship at Kiel University, visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg), Global Professor of Law at the School of Law of New York University, and BOK Visiting International Professor at the Carey School of Law of the University of Pennsylvania. He delivered a Special Course at the Hague Academy of International Law in 2016.
