Zhao Hong

Dr. Zhao Hong, who is in the indicative list of panelists of WTO dispute settlement, is a professor at the Law School of Peking University, an appointed expert of the China Intellectual Property Administration and a guest professor at Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. She is a former Member (2016.11-2020.11) and Chairperson (2019.1-2019.7, 2019.12-2020.11) of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO), during which she presided over participated and exchanged views in nearly 20 rulings of international trade dispute appeals. She held various senior positions at different departments of the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China for nearly 20 years, including the Department of Treaty and Law, Assistant Representative of the Office of Trade Negotiation, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of Anti-Monopoly, Permanent Mission of the People's Republic of China to the World Trade Organization, Department of WTO Affairs and Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation. Her expertise is in areas of WTO law, international investment law, international competition and anti-monopoly law, international dispute settlement, international trade law, international technology transfer, and intellectual property law etc.
