Michael Hwang S.C. has had the following appointments:- 

·  a Judicial Commissioner (a Judge for a fixed term of 19 months) of the Supreme Court of Singapore

·  one of the first 12 Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore

·  a Vice President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (“ICCA”)

·  a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration (“PCA”)

· a Vice Chairman of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”)

· a Council Member of the International Council for Arbitration for Sport (“ICAS”)

· a Court member of the London Court of International Arbitration (“LCIA”)

· a Commissioner of the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC)

·  the Chief Justice of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts (non-resident)

He has also served as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Switzerland and Argentina.
