Bart M. Katureebe, is the former Chief Justice of Uganda and is the Member of the Steering Committee of the Standing International Forum of Commercial Court. He started to serve as a State Attorney in the Attorney General's Chambers in 1975 and rose to the rank of Principal State Attorney. Subsequently he went into private legal practice in 1983 for five years before being appointed as Government Minister in 1988. He served in various Ministries of Government over a period of the next thirteen years, the last five of which he served as Minister of Justice and Attorney General. Between July 2001 and August 2005, he was in private legal practice as founder and Managing Partner of one of Uganda's leading Commercial Law Firms, Kampala Associated Advocates. Chambers Global, 2004 – 2005 Edition, lists him as one of the ten leading lawyers for business in Uganda. From August 2005 to June 2020, he served as the Justice of Supreme Court of Uganda and Chief Justice of Uganda.
