Judge Sun Xiangzhuang was born in January, 1971. He holds a Juris Doctor degree. From September, 2001 to September, 2002, he studied at University of Warwick (UK). He studied at Duke University (USA) from August, 2014 to December, 2014. He started his career in July, 1993, worked successively at the Jiangsu High People's Court, the Judicial Supervision Division of the SPC and the First Circuit Court of the SPC. He was appointed as a judge in June, 2011, a Presiding Judge of the First Circuit Court in January, 2015. In 2018, he has been designated as a National Adjudication Expert. At the 34th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly took place on 15 November, 2022, he was elected judge of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal for a term beginning on 1 July, 2023 to 30 June, 2030.
