The Second Session for the China-Singapore Supreme Courts Joint Working Group Was Convened

Yang Wanming, Justice of the Second Rank, Vice President of the Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China, and Steven Chong Horng Siong, Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Singapore, jointly hosted the session.
Yang Wanming said that the judicial organs of China and Singapore strengthened cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and conducted exchanges by mechanisms such as roundtable meeting and joint working group meeting on topics such as the recognition and enforcement of international civil and commercial judgment, training of judges, case law and foreign law ascertainment, during which a number of consensuses were reached and fruitful outcome was obtained. The Supreme People's Court of the People's Republic of China hopes to make full use of the outcome of this joint working group session with the Supreme Court of Singapore to prepare well for the 4th China-Singapore Law and Judicial Roundtable, plan the next move for judicial exchanges between China and Singapore and help promote the relationship between the two countries to a higher level under the circumstance that the regular and ongoing Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control measures are required.
Steven Chong Horng Siong said that the Supreme Court of Singapore will carefully consider the consensuses reached in this joint working group session, carry out exchanges on issues of common interest and facilitate the judicial cooperation of the two countries to a higher level.
