Dr. Li Yuquan enjoys special government allowances from the State Council. He is currently an independent director of China United Insurance Group Corporation; an independent director of Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited; an independent director of China Life Property and Casualty Insurance Company Limited; a part-time professor at Dalian Maritime University and Wuhan University; an external tutor for postgraduate students at Peking University, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing Technology and Business University and Capital University of Economics and Business; a Deputy Director, an arbitrator, and a member of the Expert Consultation Committee of the China Maritime Arbitration Commission; an arbitrator and a member of the Expert Consultation Committee of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission; an arbitrator of the Beijing Arbitration Commission/Beijing International Arbitration Centre; an arbitrator of the Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission/Shanghai International Arbitration Centre; the Vice-President of the China Maritime Law Association; the Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Insurance Society of China, a member of the Expert Committee on Risk Assessment of the Chinese Insurance Industry; a member of the Editorial Board of the Insurance Research, China Maritime Law Research and Insurance Industry Risk Observation.

He has served as a member of the Party Committee and Vice-President of PICC Property and Casualty Insurance Company Limited; the Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice-Chairman and President of PICC Health Insurance Company Limited; a member of the Party Committee, Executive Director and Vice-President of PICC Insurance Group Company Limited; and General Manager of Hetai Life Insurance Company Limited.

He has participated in the formulation and revision of the Insurance Law, the Maritime Law, the Arbitration Law and related laws, regulations and judicial interpretations.

His major publications include more than 10 books, including Insurance Law, Insurance Law- Theory and Practice, Theory and Practice of Insurance Company Governance, Insurance Fraud and Its Legal Countermeasures, International Civil Litigation and International Commercial Arbitration, and Chinese Commercial Law. He has published more than 100 essays.
