Danny Patrick McFadden has been a Director of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) since 2004 both in London and Hong Kong. Dually qualified as a lawyer both in Australia and the UK, he has been involved in negotiation, conflict resolution training, mediation and international business for over 20 years.
Based in Hong Kong, Danny mediates commercial, family, IP, employment, construction, succession and trusts, banking, insurance, and property sectors by using both English and Mandarin. He was previously the Vice Chairperson of HKMAAL and on Hong Kong DOJ Steering Committee on Mediation. He is on many mediation panels including IMI, SIMC, CEDR, HKIAC and CCPIT Beijing.
Danny has acted as an expert trainer in conflict management, negotiation, unconscious bias and mediation to organisations such as the UN, EU, ADB, IHG, IFC, IMF and World Bank. Since 2006 he has worked closely in China with the CCPIT Beijing Mediation Centre cooperating on training and promotion of mediation throughout China.
Since 2010, he has been Regional Mediator Asia Pacific for the World Bank Group. In 2009 he was appointed acting Director of Mediation at the United Nations in New York. In 2022 appointed as Regional Mediator Asia for the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Danny currently teaches at Kobe University in Japan and the International Peace and Dialogue Institute in Switzerland.
