The Notice of the General Office of the Supreme People’s Court on Inclusion of International Commercial Mediation Institutions in the “One-Stop” Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanism

To implement the decisions set forth at the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and in the Outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan on “accelerating the development of the foreign-related rule-of-law system and capacity, and improving mechanisms for international commercial mediation, arbitration and litigation”, to better leverage the role of One-Stop diversified international commercial dispute resolution mechanism, and to advance the international development of commercial mediation in China, upon recommendations by the Ministry of Justice and voluntary applications submitted by relevant institutions, and after comprehensive consideration of factors including the volume of international commercial dispute cases accepted by each institution, their international influence, IT-enabled development, and performance in serving the Belt and Road Initiative, the Supreme People’s Court has decided, upon deliberation, to add the Shanghai Oriental International Commercial Mediation Institute and the Benchmark International Mediation Center as international commercial mediation institutions within the Supreme People’s Court’s one-stop diversified international commercial dispute resolution mechanism.
